‘ICI Salt Van’

Sleeps Three

Built in the 1940s, our ICI Salt van is restored in the bright red of the chemical giant’s salt division (which took over the UK Salt Union in 1937). These wagons were used to convey the valuable product from the mines in Cheshire all over the country. Now earning its keep at Railway Retreats, we’ve kitted it out as a charming little base for your staycation for summer 2021.

The ICI Salt van is a great base for you to explore the local area. It includes a double bed with single bunk above, TV, en-suite shower room/WC and heating for those chilly winter months. Outside you will find an individual private garden with outdour seating over looking the steam railway and surrounding Rother Valley.

The ICI Salt van sleeps three guests with allocated parking directly outside.
